Comics contest Veles, Macedonia

  THE 19th INTERNATIONAL COMIC COMPETITION - VELES 2022 IS ANNOUNCED

The Comic Center of Macedonia based in Veles has announced the 19th INTERNATIONAL COMIC COMPETITION in a row. According to the proposals: - All authors from all over the world have the right to participate, regardless of gender and age; - The length of the comic should be from 1 to 6 boards, and in A4 format (min. 300dpi if sent electronically). If the comic is on one board, it should have 5 thumbnails. NOTE: If the comic is in color, it is recommended that it be sent by mail or delivered in person. - Comics will not be returned. By the very sending, the organizer acquires the right to publish and present them together with the authors as part of the promotion of their activities. - The theme of the comic is free. Each author can participate with only one comic. There is an exception for screenwriters where one person is allowed to write a script for multiple comics. - Participants who are in primary education should go to their primary schools for the purpose of disseminating information, organizing registration and choosing a topic for drawing. - Several authors can work on one comic (while writing who did what: script, pencil, ink...). - Along with the comic, a personal biography should be sent (name and surname with photo, date of birth, address and country where the author is from, e-mail, as well as the year when the comic was drawn. Also, on all comics, the authors should be listed as well as the title of the comic. Comics submitted without this information will not be considered for prizes. - Comics by Macedonian authors should be in the Macedonian language and Cyrillic script. - All received comics will be taken into competition for exposure in accordance with the Comic Salon exhibition with a real possibility for another type of promotion. - The comics that have arrived will be reviewed by a three-member international jury that will make a selection and propose the following awards: • First prize, 300 EUR - "Golden comic", and diploma for first place. • Second prize, 200 EUR - "Silver comic" and diploma for second place. • Third prize, 100 EUR - "Bronze strip" and diploma for third place. • Best Screenplay Award, Diploma. • Award for the best young author under 18, diploma. • Other special prizes.
